Stopped for dinner while in Elizabeth City on a Saturday . I had the carnita plate, husband had 3 street tacos- carnita. Very Good. Plenty of food with chips, salsa and a couple of beers. Good service too.

Lunch here today was delicious! I ordered the fajita nachos. They didn't skimp on anything. Most places you get a few peppers. Maybe a tomato. And so on...but here I got enough of everything. This will definitely be my preferred restaurant now when I'm in the mood for Mexican.

Taco Tuesday! Great deal on Mexican style steak tacos! Food was good, the sauces and relish for the tacos were right on.
Tall dark haired kid was our was our waiter, named Amon I think. Great smile, great service! We got there early to beat the crowd, it gets busy onTuesday nights. -

Forget 3 Amigos and Plaza Azteca. This place edges past them in overall quality and price! Though I wouldn't call it exactly "authentic" Mexican cuisine (it may have been cooked by authentic Mexicans), but you'll know if you're in an authentic Mexican joint if the customers are 90% Chicano. There's one in Chesapeake Va.
Typical ambiance, clean with plenty of booth seating. We went during lunch and there is a bit of a lunch crowd that eventually shows up. Quality to price ratio is great! I got a huge fried chicken burrito for under $7 bucks. Couldn't finish it, it was too big. The grilled tilapia was not bad, especially for the price. The complimentary chips and salsa was standard stuff. I prefer more stronger cilantro flavor in my salsa and the onions should be evenly diced. The tortilla chips came out nice and warm, but were either in the oven a tad too long and/or the chips were getting old. A little too brown. Overall will definitely hit up this place again whenever in the mood for Mexican. I didn't see any empanadas in the menu. Nothing is better at a Chicano joint than a well made chicken empanada.
